PBS Portal
Addressed JBoss Security Vulnerability CVE-2010-0738.
The Portal framework was exposed to a root security exploit via the above mentioned JBoss issue. This was resolved by removing the web-console and jmx-console from the server deployment directory. See https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-30741 for specifics from Redhat.
Pages in the portal are rendered slow.
The Portal framework was experiencing problems with long login times and generally slowed performance in regards to page rendering.
PBS Catalyst
Run Termination due to long files names.
Job submission to PBS Professional would terminate when more than 15 characters were given to a job name.
Known Issues
PBS Portal
Incorrect PBS Portal version mentioned during installation.
The PBS Portal installer screens reflect version 10.4.2 where it should say 10.4.3.
Portal service does not start up on windows xp x86.
There is a current limitation of the PBS Portal 10.4.2 where only a few concurrent connections to the Portal server on x86 Windows will function properly.
Incorrect default is being picked up by the Installers.
When installing multiple PBS Works products on the same machine, be sure and remove any previously generated installer.properties files from the installer invocation directories. Failing to do so may result in conflicting installer properties for any other PBS Works products (ie. PBS Data Collector) installed after the Portal (or any other PBS Works products).
Not able to Assign/Unassign, Enable/Disable user for the PAM authentication using "User Role Manager" widget.
When attempting to disable/enable a users PAM permissions via the User Role Manager the administrator will not see the changes reflected until next server restart.
Admin widget is reduced to title bar when Portal is running for more than 5 days without a restart.
When dragging and dropping the Admin widget on to the dashboard the "Processing your request..." panel stays forever. To get rid of it, hit the refresh button (F5) on your web browser, the admin widget appears but only as a title bar.
Portal service becomes slow after running for a few days.
The PBS Portal becomes slow, and begins to degrade in performance after 2-5 days of server up time. It is recommended that you restart the PBS Portal every 2 days for optimal server performance.
